Karl-Anthony Towns enters health & safety protocols after contracting Covid-19 for a second time

Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the unluckiest players in the NBA who had the harsh chance to contract Covid-19 a second time. Right when he was feeling fantastic on the court, his playing rhythm got affected. This news came in crushing for the Timberwolves on Thursday following the game against the Dallas Mavericks. He came up huge for his team scoring 26 points on a 9-14 shooting and adding in 14 rebounds. However, the Mavs found a way past the Timberwolves, winning the game 114:102. This update means that Minnesota will be without the second part of his trio after losing Anthony Edwards for the same reasons a couple of days earlier. The team has been also without Patrick Beverley and Jarred Vanderbilt who surely had a big impact on their performance. The Timberwolves were forced to sign forward, Chris Silva, and guard, Rayjon Tucker, on 10-day contracts. Kart-Anthony Towns showed his frustrations after hearing the news: "I am a high-risk case. Covid-19 did not treat me well whatsoever. A lot of scary nights."  Although the Timberwolves' center-forward had his vaccine shots done in time, he came in unlucky twice. Unfortunately, he lost his mother last year following complications with Covid-19. KAT enjoys a fantastic season so far, averaging 24.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. He is among the most effective 3-point shooters in the League sinking 42.6% of his attempts. He was named Player of the Week in the West in the period December 13, 2021 - December 19, 2021. The Minnesota Timberwolves are the pleasant surprise this season in the NBA. They found a way to make a comeback from their 3-8 start and are now 8th in the Western Conference with 15 wins and 16 losses. Most of these victories came in as a result of the great performance from their trio - KAT, Anthony Edwards, and D'Angelo Russell. The team will surely try its luck at reaching the Playoffs as they will do their best to achieve that. The current situation in the West doesn't allow many mistakes, so they will need to keep up that pace throughout the rest of the season.
