Ghana striker Prince Kwabena Adu struck late in first-half stoppage time to earn Viktoria Plzen a 1-1 draw with Sparta Prague in the Czech top flight.
Ghana's Prince Kwabena Adu came up big for Viktoria Plzen on Sunday, scoring a late first-half equalizer that salvaged a 1-1 draw against Sparta Prague in the Czech Chance Liga.
The young striker started the Week 14 clash at Doosan Arena and played all 90 minutes. He was a constant threat as Plzen chased the game after Sparta stunned the home crowd by taking the lead in the 17th minute.
Plzen looked set to go into the break behind, but Adu had other ideas. In stoppage time at the end of the first half, he finished off a move set up by Sampson Dweh to level the score and lift the home side before the interval.
The second half was end-to-end, with Adu and his teammates pushing hard for a winner. Neither side found one, and the points were shared at the end of a lively derby-style contest.
For Adu, it was another sign that the Ghanaian forward is making his mark in Czech football, and a timely goal in a high-stakes meeting with one of the league's heavyweights.
