German-Ghanaian forward Michael Gyasi has joined National League side AFC Telford United on loan from Bedford Town until the end of the season.
German-Ghanaian forward Michael Gyasi is heading to the top flight of English non-league football. The 26-year-old has signed for National League outfit AFC Telford United on loan from Bedford Town, a deal that runs until the end of the campaign.
Telford confirmed the move on social media with a warm welcome to the club's newest attacker. Gyasi trained with his new teammates on Friday and could be in line to make his debut against Spalding United on Saturday.
The forward arrives with plenty of mileage in the English lower leagues. He began his journey at Leicester City, then passed through Barton Rovers, St Ives Town, Chesterfield and Gloucester, and also had a short stint in Germany with Phoenix Lubeck. That well-travelled background should give Telford an experienced option up front as the season enters its closing stretch.
There is a bigger storyline for Ghana fans to watch too. Despite holding German nationality, Gyasi is still eligible to represent the Black Stars at senior level, so a strong run in the National League could put his name on the radar.
